Generative AI and AI Agents for Automating Network and Security Operations
While AIOps has made great strides over the past decade, NOC and SOC teams still rely on human decision-making and manually-initiated workflows for many processes that can be streamlined and automated by leveraging the power of generative and AI and AI agents.
GenAI can augment the abilities of operations personnel by simplifying complex workflows and performing tasks such as code generation so that operators don’t need to become expert programmers. AI agents – based on models that have been trained to evaluate situations and make decisions like human operators – can help alleviate the burden of NOC/SOC personnel mired in performing complex, tedious and error-prone tasks.
The AI NOC/SOC Automation Project Team is exploring the salient requirements for applying generative AI and AI agents in the context of NOC/SOC operations to fully realize the promise of AIOps – autonomous operations. The goal is to deliver Buyers Guide content reflecting these requirements that will enable enterprise IT decision makers to develop solutions and procure the products and services best suited for their organization’s needs.
